The Itami Laboratory exhibited at the “Sagamihara Linear Festa 2025” (hosted by Kanagawa Prefecture, JR Central, and Sagamihara City) held from October 25 to 26, 2025. This event, held at the construction site of the Central Shinkansen Kanagawa Station (tentative name), aimed to deepen understanding of the Linear Central Shinkansen project and its construction. It featured light-up displays utilizing the underground space and robot experience exhibits.
Reflecting on the exhibition, Soichiro Ishii stated, “It was genuinely heartwarming to see so many people take an interest in the robot we collaborated to build.” Kazuki Miyamoto added, “Seeing the Linear construction site up close made me truly appreciate Japan's manufacturing capabilities. It reaffirmed how research and creation can bring smiles to people's faces.”
The Itami Laboratory will continue to promote the development of manufacturing that contributes to society. This will be achieved through student-led manufacturing education and research activities, while deepening collaboration with the local community.
